A line-based longest-common-subsequence algorithm identifies unchanged lines, additions, and removals. Comparison is exact and case sensitive.
Worked example
Changing a line from beta to beta changed produces one removed line and one added line.

Limitations
Maximum 1,000 lines per side. The algorithm is line based rather than character/word based, and large rearrangements can appear as removals plus additions.
