What this GPA Calculator does

This GPA Calculator estimates your weighted grade point average using course grades and credit hours. A higher-credit course has more influence on the final GPA than a lower-credit course.

The calculator uses a common 4.0 grading scale. Your school may use different grade points, weighting rules, pass/fail policies, repeated-course rules, or honors/AP/IB weighting.

How GPA is calculated

Each course grade is converted into grade points. Those grade points are multiplied by the course credits. The total weighted grade points are then divided by the total number of credits.

For example, an A in a 4-credit course affects your GPA more than an A in a 1-credit course because the 4-credit course carries more weight.
