Method

The formatter scans the source character by character, preserves quoted strings and comments, and adds indentation around braces and line breaks after declarations.

Worked example

body{color:red;margin:0 10px;} becomes a multi-line rule with one declaration per line.

Privacy

Pasted CSS stays in the browser.

Limitations

This is a lightweight formatter, not a full CSS parser or validator. Malformed CSS, unusual nested syntax, or data URLs may require a specialized formatter.
